Planting Trees in Judea and Samaria

We, International Livingway Mission (ILM), have donated eight trees right before the start of last year's sabbatical.

Planting Trees

"I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set pines in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together," (Isaiah 41:19, NIV)

Again, we begin to pray to join the tree planting campaign in Israel365. This time Israel365 is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a unique 10,000 tree planting campaign in Judea and Samaria. Bless the land of Israel with a forest of trees.

The reason we support Israel365 is that Israel365 is doing a great job with a great commitment to acting as a mediator for Christians and Jews to communicate and become one with each other. This organization began with an amazing vision of connecting those who love Israel to God, the land of Israel, and the people of Israel.

After 10 years of success, this organization wants to thank God by planting a whole new forest to bless God's Holy Land.

This organization has adopted the Miyawaki method in this tree planting campaign. The Miyawaki planting method is said to grow into a forest that can be self-sufficient for 10 years in just 3 years.

The Miyawaki method they practice is:
1. Planting trees and shrubs native to the land of Israel
2. Planting dense trees to support each other's growth
3. Extensive soil and irrigation preparation before planting
4. Fireproofing forests by retaining moisture
5. Fence in the forest to protect from animals and terrorists

By focusing on these five things, they can make our trees grow amazingly.

Planting Trees

This particular forest will be protected and maintained by the ‘Kochav HaShachar Community’, but that is only half the story. The forest will only come to life through you and us.

We hope to plant trees in Israel and breathe life into the prophecies of the Bible. When we plant 10,000 trees in Judea and Samaria, we will glorify God and his holy land, Israel. And we will resurrect the land that has been barren for more than 2,000 years.

What tree species are they planting?
They mainly plant seven kinds of fruit trees from the Bible: olives, grapes, pomegranates, figs, and dates. And they plant native non-fruit trees that best match the diverse ecosystems found in Judea and Samaria. The overall goal is to plant trees that beautify the community, provide a livelihood for the community, and help the Jewish people to gain a stronger foothold on this land.

Where are they planting trees?
They plant trees wherever they are needed most in the land of Israel, with a focus on Judea and Samaria, the heart of Israel in the Bible.

“The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow” (Isaiah 35:7, NIV)

The tree planting movement is considered to be an amazing work in which God's prophecy is fulfilled and prepares for the Second Coming of our Lord. Please pray with us for this amazing work.

Thank you.
